Jose Mourinho has announced that Chelsea will
wait until after Monday’s match with Manchester
United to make a third move for Wayne Rooney.
Chelsea have identified Rooney as their
primary transfer target of the summer but
have so far had two offers for the striker
rebuffed.
United remain adamant that the England
international is not for sale and he made an
appearance as a substitute in Saturday’s
4-1 victory over Swansea City.
“I don’t want Chelsea to do it before we go
there,” said Mourinho, following Chelsea’s
2-1 defeat of Aston Villa on Wednesday.
“Everybody in the club, in the board, they
agree with me. They share that opinion.
“I think this period, by the ethical point of
view, is a period where we’re going to be
quiet.” (Sky Sports)
If Chelsea miss out on Rooney there are other
alternatives and it will be interesting to see just
what happens in the coming weeks
