Under attack from all quarters for a dismal
summer on and off the field, Arsenal Manager
Arsene Wenger is looking to take some heat off
himself by making a move for Spanish star Iker
Casillas, the Daily Mail reports. Wenger wants the
unsettled Real Madrid goalkeeper to replace error-
prone Wojciech Szczesny with Madrid hoping to
earn atleast £15million for the Spaniard.
But Casillas linked to replace Barca-bound
De Gea
As Arsenal and Chelsea look to make a move for
unsettled Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, the
Express understands that the Spanish international
is being lined up to replace David de Gea at Old
Trafford, with the Manchester United goalkeeper
being targeted by Barcelona as replacement for
Victor Valdes.
Real Madrid close to clinching Bale transfer
in £93m deal
One of the longest running transfer sagas of the
summer could be coming to a close soon as the
Metro understand that Tottenham chairman
Daniel Levy has given the green light to Real
Madrid to sign Gareth Bale in deal worth
£100million, with £93million paid in cash and the
rest in the form of left-back Fabio Coentrao.
Spurs splash Bale cash on Willian and
Lamela
Tottenham are looking to cushion the blow of
losing Gareth Bale by signing Willian and Erik
Lamela. The Daily Mail reports that Spurs are
close to securing a £30million deal for Anzhi
Makhachkala midfielder Willian after the 25-year
old arrived in London to finalise his move to White
Hart Lane while the club will take its summer
spending over £100million if it agrees a £30million
deal with Roma for Erik Lamela.
But Lamela’s agent denies Tottenham move
As Tottenham prepared to spend part of the cash
earned from Gareth Bale’s world record move to
Real Madrid on Erik Lamela, the Roma star’s
agent has ruled out that his client is on the verge
of a switch to London. ESPN quote Lamela’s agent
saying, “I'm not in London and what is being said
is not the truth. I'm in the [Italian] capital along
with Erik's father. Lamela's relaxed about it all.
We're just waiting for developments. Let's see
what happens."
Man United look to return with £35m
Fellaini and Baines bid
After their previous offer was termed insulting and
derisory by Everton, Manchester United are
looking to return with an improved offer for
Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini. According
to the Mirror, United are poised to make a joint
bid of £35million for the Toffees pair hoping
Everton will have to sell to splash some cash in
the transfer market.
And United chase Modric too
Not content with Marouane Fellaini, David Moyes
is targeting more midfield reinforcements and the
Daily Star believes that the Manchester United
manager is ready to continue his pursuit of Real
Madrid midfielder Luka Modric. Moyes wants to
make the Croatian his marquee signing before the
close of the transfer window.
Mourinho to table fresh Rooney bid
Jose Mourinho has decided to test Manchester
United’s resolve in keeping a disgruntled Wayne
Rooney this season and Sky Sports reports that
the Chelsea manager is preparing a fresh bid for
the striker. The Blues have had 2 bids for the
England international turned down by United, who
remain resolute in their stance that Rooney is not
for sale.

Arsenal face competition from Monaco for
Kondogbia
Arsenal’s pursuit of another transfer target hit a
roadblock after Monaco emerged as their rivals for
Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according
to the Express. Arsene Wenger is thought to be
planning a bid for the Frenchman while Monaco
have already tabled a £13 million offer for the 20-
year old, who has a reported £17million release

Champions PSG are looking to beat the Gunners to

have seen their initial bid of £12 million rejected
by Newcastle.

Desperate to provide cover in the goalkeeping
department, Arsenal are plotting a move for
Valencia goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, reports

Valencia in 2015.

Arda Turan’s agent revealed that Arsenal and
Liverpool are among a number of clubs looking to
sign his client, who is open to a move to the
Premier League. The Metro quote the Atletico
Madrid winger’s agent saying, “The club does not
want to sell Arda. However, if we were to get an
offer equal to his €24m buy-out clause Atletico
should listen to such a proposal. Arsenal and

confirm there are clubs interested, like the two

Liverpool were dealt a major blow after defender
Sebastian Coates was ruled out for up to 6 months

West Ham are hopeful of beating Southampton
and Norwich to the signature of Fabio Quagliarella
from Juventus after agreeing personal terms with
the 29-year old striker, the Daily Star reports. The
Hammers will now have to iron out the details
with Juventus over the type of transfer as they
want a loan move to be made permanent next
summer while Juventus want to conclude the
transfer permanently this time around.
Newcastle target Tom Ince using money
from Cabaye sale
As Arsenal and PSG get ready to battle for Yohan
Cabaye, Newcastle are planning on how to use the
money they earn from the midfielder’s sale. And
the Mirror understands that the Toon are prepared
to meet the £8 million valuation of Blackpool star
Tom Ince, who has also been chased by
Tottenham.
Pardew admits more firepower needed at
Newcastle
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew admitted that
the club has still not recovered from the loss of
Demba Ba during the January transfer window and
needs more additions to the squad. The Chronicle
quote Pardew saying, “We are still short. We are
short of Demba Ba. And until Remy is fit or we get
another striker it will be a problem for us.”
United’s Larnell Cole wanted by several
clubs
Manchester United youngster Larnell Cole is
wanted by a number of clubs for a loan spell and
the Premier League Champions are said to be
considering sending the player to gain first-team
experience. Cole’s agent told Sky Sports, “I am
aware that he has created quite a bit of interest
and I'm not surprised given his performances last
season. Larnell is an exceptional talent but it is
important that if he goes on loan it's to a club
where he will not only play regularly but continue
his development under the right manager as
ultimately his aim is to play for Manchester
United."

Cissokho signs to make it a busy summer for
Liverpool
Liverpool made their 5th signing of the transfer
window after they completed the transfer of Aly
Cissokho from Valencia on a season-long loan,
subject to paperwork. The 25-year old Frenchman
told the club’s official website, “I'm very happy to
be here. I think we have a great team and great
fans and together we can achieve big things. It's
going to be a great experience for me, and of
course playing for the club for the first time is
something I'm excited about."
