Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are
closing in on the signing of Steaua Bucharest
defender Vlad Chiriches, according to reports.
Sky Sports claim that Tottenham are in advanced
talks to sign Chiriches, despite the deal nearly
being called off a month ago.
New defender
Chiriches, a centre back, is looking likely to be
signing for Spurs, as the north London side look to
strengthen their back four.
The Romanian side and Spurs have reportedly
agreed a fee for around £7million for the 23 year-
old, according to the broadcaster.
Spurs have been linked with the highly-rated
defender all summer long, and it looked like the
deal to bring the Romanian to England had broken
down a month ago, but now the two clubs seem
to have have agreed a deal.
“Chiri’s condition is good and the clubs have
agreed to transfer him. I’m very happy for him,”
Steaua’s coach Reghecampf said after their 2-2
draw on Saturday, as reported by Sky Sports.
Willian
Tottenham may look to be signing Chiriches but
they have lost out on the signing of Brazilian star
Willian, who is now Stamford Bridge Bound.
Chelsea have stolen Willian from under
Tottenham’s nose, after the Brazilian had a
medical at Spurs.
Willian was brought into the country by
Tottenham to agree a deal, but now looks to be
joining Jose Mourinho on the other side of London
after the Blues confirmed the deal was done,
subject to the player being granted a work permit.
