Senate President David Mark has commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their victory over the Walya antelopes of Ethiopia in the ongoing Brazil 2014 World Cup qualification series .

Mark, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Paul Mumeh, in Abuja, commended the players and officials for their determination and  focus through out the duration of the game while he also praised Nigerians for their support for  the Eagles.

He therefore urged them to maintain the wining streak in the matches ahead of Brazil 2014.

He assured the players that government would not renege on its promise to adequately reward them.

Mark was optimistic that the present crop of players and their officials have the needed credentials to take on any team in the world and triumph.

He reminded the Super Eagles and their handlers of the huge responsibility of not only flying the Nigerian flag but the image of Africa as the reigning champions.

From the legislative point of view, the senate president pledged that the National Assembly would within its legislative competence improve appropriation to sports not just for competitions but creating  jobs for the unemployed youths.
