In a bid to beef-up security in Niger State during the Eid-Kabir celebration, the state Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Ikemefuna D. Izuka has deployed 500 officers and men in the 25 local government areas to ensure security of lives and properties.

 
He disclosed this on Monday to journalists in Minna, said the measure was to ensure a hitch free Sallah celebration on Tuesday.
 
“We have deployed 500 officers and men to all the nooks and crannies of Niger State to complement the efforts of other security agencies in protecting lives and properties during the Sallah celebration,” he said.
 
He advised members of the public especially the Muslim faithful to be security conscious, adding that they should report any suspicious movement to command or call the following hotline 08023133011 for help.
 
Izuka enjoined the Muslims to always imbibe the virtues of Sallah in their daily activities to ensure peaceful co-existence of the various ethnic groups that make up the country.
