Some Emeka Nweke was sentenced to death by an Asaba high court over having robbed his victims of total sum of N5,520.
According to the prosecution, 31-year-old Nweke and other members of the gang armed with cutlass broke into their victims' apartments and stole the cash totaling N5,520 back in September 2012.
Another hearing of robbery ended in a death sentence in Asaba, after which a 26-year-old convict, Ndubuisi Obiora threw himself on the ground and started weeping. Obirora was robbing passengers on Benin-Asaba highway at gun point and was caught by the special anti robbery squad in July 2012.
