President Goodluck Jonathan has received with sadness news of the death of the renowned Nigerian businessman and religious leader Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola-Alao.
This is contained in a press released issued on Wednesday by Jonathan's spokesperson Reuben Abati.
On behalf of himself, the Federal Government and the people of Nigeria, President Jonathan offered condolences to the Arisekola-Alao family and the people of Ibadan and Oyo States on the passing away of the famed Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland.
Jonathan noted that Arisekola-Alao lived a very fulfilled life, and in passing on, the famous entrepreneur, community and religious leader leaved a legacy of significant achievements.
Arisekola-Alao would be remembered for the remarkable entrepreneurial skills with which he established many successful businesses and created jobs for numerous Nigerians, the president said.
President Jonathan prays that God Almighty will receive Alhaji Arisekola-Alao’s soul and grant him eternal rest.
Arisekola-Alaod died at a hospital in Switzerland on Wednesday, June 17 at the age of 69. His remains will arrive to Nigeria on Thursday for burial in keeping with Muslim rites.
