The MET GALA is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, marking the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit.

Every year a different theme for the event and this year’s is themed; “China: Through the Looking Glass”

Owing to this fact, guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibition hence the Chinese look/style/ensemble everyone pulled.
