Fayose ‘salutes’ Buhari, accepts poll results (See!)

Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state and one of the arrowheads of President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential campaign, has congratulated Muhammadu Buhari, describing the outcome of the presidential election as the will of God. Fayose famously raised health concerns over Buhari and engaged in an acrimonious media campaign against the retired general.<br />
<br />
With results of the election showing Buhari taking an unassailable lead on Tuesday afternoon, Fayose issued a statement, saying “the election result is the will of God and Nigerians , and all lovers of peace, progress and development of Nigeria must accept it”. The governor said the election results should not been seen as victory or loss for any political party, adding:<br />
<br />
“To me, Nigerians and democracy won.” Fayose said: “I salute Nigerians, especially the great people of Ekiti state. “I salute President Jonathan for laying the most solid foundation for democracy in Nigeria. And I salute Major General Buhari for being a resilient and dogged fighter.<br />
 “I urge Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliation to respect the outcome of the election in the interest of peace, progress and development of the country.<br />
<br />
 “Nigeria as a country is greater than any individual or group and it is my plea that no one should do anything to rock the boat of peace in the country.”<br />

Gov. Fayose is appealing to APC to please let their presidential candidate leave for US so he could get the medical attention he needs and not break down before time.<br />
<br />
The special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has quoted Governor Fayose as saying at a campaign rally in Omuo Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government that “Buhari is a car with a damaged engine but being packaged by Tinubu and his cabal whose only interest is the wealth of Nigeria”.<br />
<br />
He said; “In all the campaign rallies held by the APC, Buhari never spoke for more than six minutes.<br />
<br />
“Buhari will just utter some words that he had rehearsed and any attempt to bring in new words always result to confusion in his brain due to senility. That was the reason he called his running mate Osunbade instead of Osinbajo and also referred to Imo State as Ibo State.<br />
<br />
“This is clear evidence of ill-health, old and and senility. Those packaging Buhari to achieve their personal ambition of gaining unhindered access to the wealth of Nigeria should fear God and allow this old man to take care of his health,” the governor said.<br />
