 The Buhari Support Organisations has called for the arrest of Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, the Director, Media, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, for announcing unofficial results.<br />
<br />
The Director, Media and Information of the BSO, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, made the call on Monday in Abuja at a news conference.<br />
<br />
According to Maduekwe, this is the time for security agencies to show their neutrality by arresting Fani-Kayode because the only authority to announce election results is the Independent National<br />
Electoral Commission.<br />
<br />
The organisation claimed that Fani-Kayode had breached relevant sections of the Electoral Act by announcing on Sunday that the PDP was leading in the presidential election in 23 states of the federation.<br />
“We ask the security agencies to immediately arrest Fani-Kayode for breaching relevant sections of the Electoral Act which forbids any organ outside INEC from officially declaring election results.<br />
“His arrest for further questioning will be a clear indication that the security agencies are truly unbiased participants in this electoral process.<br />
“His declaration is also a breach of both the first and second Abuja Peace Accord signed by the presidential candidates,’’ Maduekwe said.<br />
He called on the international community and observers to note the steps being taken by the ruling party to cause severe breach of peace and call them to order.<br />
<br />
He urged APC supporters to maintain the peace as they await the official announcement of authentic INEC results for the Saturday elections.<br />
“We ask Nigerians to join us in saying `No’ to this recent manifestation of habitual impunity. We appeal to all our numerous supporters to sustain their calmness in the face of current provocation and abuse of our electoral processes,’’ he said.<br />
Maduekwe said that APC would reject “in its entirety, the use of security to compromise an election process that has been commended as having high quotient of integrity’’. He urged INEC to adhere strictly to guidelines for elections which protected candidates through active participation of party agents.<br />
“We request INEC to adhere to the guideline which makes it mandatory for polling unit party agents to sign result sheet forming the basis for collation of reslt at collation centres.<br />

Obasanjo’s Tearing of PDP Card Reminded Me of King Saul Rejecting David in the Bible – Femi Fani-Kayode

Former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo left many in shock after his dramatic exit from PDP.<br />
<br />
Director of Media and Publicity for the People’s Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Femi Fani-Kayode, is still in shock. In a statement released on the matter, he described Obasanjo’s tearing of the PDP party card as painful and tragic. He also likened the action to biblical times, when King Saul rejected David.<br />

Here is the statement, as reported by Punch:<br />

Watching our party membership card being torn up whilst President Obasanjo was standing there and smiling was painful and tragic.<br />
<br />
This is a party which he helped to build and on whose platform he was elected President for eight good years.<br />
<br />
The truth is that President Obasanjo is far better and far bigger than that. Such behavior is provocative and unacceptable.<br />
<br />
He is free to leave the party but does he have to spit in our faces by tearing up our party card in public and before the television cameras?<br />
<br />
This knee-jerk reaction is most unlike President Obasanjo and it is very insulting. It is clear that he has burnt all the bridges and that he has left us forever.<br />
<br />
On a personal note, I feel saddened by this but the truth is that many in our party members have heaved a huge sigh of relief. Many of us love President Obasanjo and we shall continue to do so regardless of whether he is in our party or not but tearing up that party card was too much to bear.<br />
<br />
It spoke volumes and it was indicative of the deep hatred and contempt that he has for us and our cause.<br />
<br />
It reminded me of the biblical passage in which King Saul rejected David and then planned to stop him from ascending to the throne by attempting to kill and destroy him.<br />
<br />
Thankfully, the Lord was with David and not only did he deliver him from Saul, but he also crowned him King.<br />

PDP Presidential Campaign media director, Femi Fani Kayode says the inability of APC presidential flag bearer, Gen Buhari to produce his academic credentials to INEC indicates that his entire career in the military was based on falsehood, a situation he says brings to question the admission system into the army in the 1960s. FFK said this today while speaking to newsmen in Abuja<br />

“It is disingenuous for Buhari to say that he contested previous elections and that the issue of his qualifications did not arise. Had INEC not complied with the Electoral Act this year, which requires that they paste the academic credentials of all the presidential candidates, Nigerians would have remained ignorant of the fact that Buhari has probably been submitting affidavits for the past elections. The fact that he got away with it in 2003, 2007 and 2011 does not make it right.<br />

<br />
The minimum that Nigerians require from Buhari is the presentation of his secondary school certificate which enabled him to gain admission into the Nigerian Military College in 1962 and on which basis he became a commissioned officer of the Nigerian army. This forms the fulcrum for the subsequent courses that he attended as he rose in the army, including the US War College.<br />
<br />
 Failure to produce that school certificate implies that Buhari’s entire career in the Army was based on falsehood which cannot stand. This brings to question the admission system/policy into the army in the early 1960s. Were the rules bent for certain individuals in fulfillment of the quota system?<br />
<br />
Anyone that reads General Alabi Isama’s book, which was published last year, will know that this was the case. In fact, Alabi Isama went as far as to allege that some Nigerians were admitted into the military academy without the necessary qualifications like school certificate. We believe that Buhari was one of those people and this is why he is unable to produce his certificate.<br />
<br />
The truth is that he was never qualified for entry into the military academy in the first place and consequently he should never have become a commissioned officer let alone a man that rose to the rank of general. At best he ought to have remained a non-commissioned officer.<br />
<br />
As long as he cannot produce that secondary school certificate, we believe that he is not qualified to run for the presidency of Nigeria. This is a matter of law and not sentiment. Buhari, just like any other Nigerian, must be compelled to abide by the law and he must prove his eligibility for the presidential election by simply producing his secondary school certificate.” he said<br />
